Inspired by founder Lauren Harwell Godfrey’s travels to Egypt. According to Godfrey, “This fly mini capsule came about after learning of the all of the symbolism that the flies hold in Egypt. It has been said that not only are they a symbol of protection, but that in ancient times golden flies were given to honor persistence and bravery in military service. After visiting several ancient sites and repeatedly seeing flies holding a place of honor in the hieroglyphs, I felt compelled to recreate these diligent creatures in fine materials. 18k yellow gold and diamonds, including faceted rose cut diamonds in the eyes as a nod to the complex geometry of a flies eye.”
