David Webb was born in Asheville, North Carolina with a thirst for big city life. Creativity was his calling card, “I had a tremendous feeling of art in me. I wanted to be an archaeologist, a ceramist, or a jeweler. Jewelry won out.”
The eponymous brand was founded in 1948 in New York City and is best known for distinctive animal motifs, dramatic necklaces, hand-hammered gold and a bold use colorful gemstones and diamonds. David Webb is widely revered for its revolutionary masterpieces and exceptional craftsmanship. The signature creations have been coveted by history’s most iconic tastemakers including Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Diana Vreeland, Liz Taylor, Grace Kelly and Coco Chanel.
