Lauren Godfrey began work on the scarabs and then decided to take a trip to Egypt. Having been long fascinated by the ancient culture and it's rich visual use of hieroglyphs and symbols, these scarabs represent rebirth and renewal. Godfrey's version features contrasting textures with faceted and smooth stones sourced in complementary colors. As in her typical work, there are patterns and engraved lines with lots of detail like the tiny little pyramids that define the center of the piece, set with sparking diamonds.
